I left Niemoller’s poem out in case anyone tried to slither out by saying that saying that only applied ‘then’ even if it does apply.
Sheila and I were talking about the election today (well Sheila was talking I was invoking John Brown).
We’ll be thinking about you guys. Take care, the coming weeks are going to be rough ones, let’s hope the Grown-Ups can take centre stage again.

Agreed, there are those who are blinded by their own hatred and cannot see the parallels. Thanks, Roger and Sheila … your words of support mean so much to me … to all of us. Yes, the coming weeks will be possibly the worst since the Oaf took office nearly four years ago, and I suspect we will not emerge unscathed. I dread it. I am not afraid, but rather am so furious that I cannot calm down. Sigh.

What a remarkable man Burns was!!! Thanks for sharing — I hadn’t heard of him before now. That is the real meaning of the word “Patriot” — not these thugs Trump calls patriots.
